Welcome to the 79th Annual Meeting of The Meteoritical Society
The meeting is jointly organized by the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and the Geoscience Department of Freie Universität Berlin. It will be held on the Dahlem Campus of Freie Universität Berlin in the modern Henry Ford Building conference center.
Oral sessions will take place in state-of-the-art auditoria, plenary sessions also in the main auditorium that seats up to 1,000 persons, and where the public Barringer Invitational Lecture will be presented. Poster sessions will take place on-site, too.
Conference registration on Sunday, 7 August 2016, starting at 4:00 p.m., will take place at the Thaer Saal of Humboldt Universität zu Berlin in Berlin-Mitte, directly adjacent to the Museum für Naturkunde. From 6:00 p.m. that day, the Welcome Party will be held at the Museum. The Wednesday conference day will be dedicated to the Awards Ceremony that will be followed by two excursion options (such as “Historical Potsdam” or “City of Contrasts”) before the Conference Banquet will be held in the “Wasserwerk”, the location of the former Berlin sewage works.
