Easy-to-read language
on our website
How do we use plain language?
We use plain language on our website so that as many people as possible can easily understand our content. Plain language helps people with learning difficulties, those with low literacy skills, people who have only recently started speaking German, and anyone who wants to grasp information quickly and clearly.
We want to be understandable to everyone.
Our aim is to break down barriers and give all users easy access to information. That is why we adapt much of our content into plain language, phrasing it clearly and understandably without complicated sentence structures. When using plain language, some information may be omitted. This is done to ensure the text remains clear and easy to understand. However, only additional or very difficult details are omitted. Important information is always retained in the text.
We use standards for this
For our texts in plain language, we follow the guidelines of DIN SPEC 33429 “Recommendations for German Plain Language”. These standards help us to structure texts in such a way that they are clear, understandable and easy to read.
Our range is growing.
Please note that not all content on our website is currently available in Plain Language. However, we are continuously expanding our range so that, step by step, more and more information becomes available in Plain Language.
By using plain language, we are making an active contribution to greater inclusion and participation, as understandable information is an important step towards accessibility.
