Mosquitoes and Malaria – A Love Story

Planetary Health Talk: Mosquitoes and Malaria
bis

In order to be able to talk digitally about various topics related to parasites, the spread of pathogens, global health and our relationship with nature, we will start with our event series on the 20th of April. We will address current issues relating to the coronavirus and the transmission from animals to humans. At each Live Talk we will have a scientist as a guest to talk about their work and answer your questions.

The first Live Talk will take place with the scientist Florence Awamu. At the Humboldt University Institute for Biology  she is working on the transmission and spread factors of malaria, as well as the disease itself. In conversation with Florence you will learn which animals transmit the parasites responsible for the disease and what influence climate change has on the return of malaria to areas where it was already eradicated.
