The facade of the research museum comes alive: T. rex Tristan Otto will meet the savings bank mascot Sparky and together they will discover the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, its exciting research, the collection and the exhibition virtually. Thanks to the support of Berliner Sparkasse, the museum's facade will be illuminated with an artistically designed video projection during the festival period from 11 to 20 October 2019, which can be viewed daily from 6 p.m. to midnight. The festival will be accompanied by evening special openings and events such as a food market and the Night of the Open Doors with free admission.

Prof. Dr. Michael Brecht (Institute of Biology, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin): Neurobiology: Why We Laugh and Play
In the ambience of the Sauriersaal you can immerse yourself in the fascinating world of science. Afterwards you can visit the exhibition. An event together with the Life Sciences Faculty of the Humboldt University of Berlin. Admission is free. Afterwards the exhibition can be visited. Admission is free. In German.

Sa, 12.10., 19:00 - 24:00 Night of open doors
On the opening weekend of the Festival of Lights, the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin will also open its doors outside normal opening hours. Discovering the exhibition in an evening atmosphere and the animals of the night is a special experience. Lounge music and cocktails under dinosaurs are also available. Admission is free.

Wed, 16.10., 09:30 - 18:00 The children's festival of the Berliner Sparkasse for research and discovery
The Berliner Sparkasse invites all children and their families to a children's party at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. The day has many surprises in store for young and old explorers. Large dinosaur skeletons can be just as impressive as watching microorganisms or water fleas. Dinosaurs can be made and the knowledge tested in a quiz. Smaller fossils from the museum's research collection can be touched and examined. A large radio teddy bear stage welcomes the guests on the forecourt. There are raffles and many activities to participate in. Admission is free.

Sat, 19.10., 19:00 - 24:00 Food Market
Culinary specialities such as Asia burgers with coriander cream and Wakame algae, many other healthy foods and drinks as well as various food stands await visitors in the middle of the exhibition. A special highlight at the Berliner Sparkasse stand will be a smoothie bike.

Food vouchers are included in the ticket. Drinks on a self-pay basis.
