When the museum opens its doors late into the night, a special journey of discovery begins:
night owls, museum enthusiasts and the simply curious come together for an extraordinary evening during the Long Night of Museums. Amidst dinosaur skeletons, a varied programme awaits you – featuring guided tours, live speakers, talks, information stands and discussions on the latest research at the museum. Cocktails amongst the dinosaurs create a special atmosphere.

At this year’s Long Night, the Museum of Natural History focuses on an exciting search for clues: the evolution of the museum. For the museum is currently undergoing changes more profound than at any time in over a century. Just as in nature, it is all about change, adaptation and further development – architecturally, digitally and culturally. You will gain insights into newly designed galleries, discover how collections are being made accessible and experience how research is brought to life. Museum evolution means: the museum is evolving so that it remains a place where knowledge is created and where exchange and encounters take place, now and in the future.

Further information can be found on the Long Night of Museums website.

The programme for the Long Night of Museums 2026 will be published at the end of July.
