Queering Nature
A queer historical perspective on nature and science.

How is nature sexualised? How do researchers determine the sex of a dinosaur? What does colonialism have to do with botany and the sex of plants? Whose knowledge do we (re)present at the Museum of Natural History – and what might remain hidden?
The ‘Queering Nature’ guided tour focuses on a queer historical perspective on nature and science, and answers these and other questions using examples such as the hippopotamus, polar bear and Tyrannosaurus rex in the museum’s exhibitions.
‘Queering Nature’ is also available via our Digital Guide. All you need is your own smartphone. The service is web-based, so you don’t need to install an app.
