Guided tours and educational programmes

If you would like to visit the museum independently with a kindergarten group, school class or another group, you currently do not need to register if your group has fewer than 50 participants.

Groups of more than 50 participants are kindly asked to register in advance by emailing info@mfn.berlin.

We recommend booking an online time-slot ticket (available up to 14 days in advance) to avoid waiting times at the ticket desk.

The reduced group admission fee is € 2.00 per person. For each school class, up to two accompanying adults receive free admission. Additional accompanying adults are charged the reduced group rate of € 2.00 per person.

Registering a group tour

To book a guided tour for your group, please send an email to bildung@mfn.berlin. Our team will get in touch with you to arrange the details.

Many kindergarten groups and school classes visit the museum every day. Weekday mornings are especially popular, and many educational programmes are fully booked well in advance.

If possible, we recommend visiting the museum with your kindergarten group or school class around midday or in the afternoon. Friday mornings are also generally less busy than other weekday mornings.

For larger groups that are clearly identifiable as school classes, a school confirmation letter is currently not required.

A school confirmation letter is necessary for groups of fewer than ten participants, as our ticket desk staff may otherwise be unable to distinguish them from private groups or families.

We generally recommend that kindergarten groups and preschool classes bring a confirmation letter, as they are entitled to free admission.

Breaks are important. If you have booked multiple guided tours or workshops, please allow enough time for breaks between activities so that both the children and young people, as well as our guides, can fully enjoy the programme.

The museum café offers light refreshments, including sandwiches, quiches, and soups. Children and young people are welcome to eat their own food and drinks in the adjacent picnic area. In good weather, you are also welcome to take a break outside the museum and re-enter afterwards.

During your visit, coats, bags, and backpacks can be stored in the cloakroom on the lower ground floor or in the group lockers located in the café area. Please speak to a member of staff at the Information Desk or a member of the museum's security team for assistance.

Please meet at the Infopoint in the foyer, where you will be welcomed by one of our guides.

We kindly ask you to arrive on time and allow extra time for purchasing tickets, using the cloakroom, and visiting the restrooms before your guided programme begins.

Payment can be made at the museum ticket desk by cash, debit card or invoice. If you wish to pay by invoice, please provide your billing address when requesting your booking.

At present, there is no charge if you need to cancel your booking. However, we kindly ask you to inform us by email via bildung@mfn.berlin as early as possible, and no later than two days before your scheduled visit.

This helps us avoid unnecessary costs by ensuring that our guides do not come to the museum for a cancelled tour. It also allows us to offer the appointment to another group.

You can help prepare children and young people for their visit by explaining what to expect (for example, a guided tour followed by time to explore the exhibition independently), asking about their interests, and encouraging them to prepare questions in advance.

It is also helpful to introduce them to the museum's topics before the visit. You can find educational materials on our website.

Please note that you are responsible for supervising the children and young people throughout the visit. We also ask that you remind your group to behave appropriately in the museum. This includes keeping noise to a reasonable level and not eating in the exhibition galleries.

If your schedule allows, we recommend giving children and young people time to explore the museum before or after their educational programme. Many students appreciate the opportunity to discover the exhibitions at their own pace.
