The collections are reference collections and can only be viewed on site. Access to the archive is by prior appointment only, to be arranged via email: archiv@mfn.berlin

Due to ongoing museum developments, there may be temporary restrictions on access. Access to individual collections may therefore be limited.

Overview

The archive’s collections bring together extensive materials relating to expeditions, scientific institutions and research networks. They comprise written records, visual material and documentation that have been preserved within thematic or institutional contexts.

These collections provide insights into the organisation of research, international networks and the history of scientific institutions.
