Strengthening collaboration between technology companies and cultural institutions

elio.museumfuernaturkunde.berlin

ELIO is a pioneering initiative that brings together the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (MfN) and technology companies to advance the digitization of objects in galleries, libraries, archives and museums (GLAM). Our goal is to develop innovative systems that not only enable the digitization of objects, but also create models for their long-term use and perpetuation.

Our vision

Our vision is to strengthen collaboration between technology companies and cultural institutions through the development and perpetuation of digital object digitization systems. By creating prototypes and models, we strive not only to support current projects, but also to create long-term solutions that meet the requirements and needs of our users.

Why ELIO?

ELIO provides a unique platform where technology companies and cultural institutions come together to develop innovative solutions. We create customized offerings with our partners by understanding the diverse needs of the GLAM sector and working closely with them to develop innovative solutions.

Our approach

As a leading institution in the field of object digitization in natural history museums, the MfN offers an ideal environment to analyse and bring together the interests of private and public institutions. By combining expertise and resources, we strive to develop pioneering solutions that meet both current needs and future challenges.

Our mission

Our mission is to bring together technology companies and cultural institutions to jointly develop prototype systems for object digitization and create models for their perpetuation. Our focus is not only to support individual projects, but to build long-term partnerships that enable continuous progress.
