Mediasphere For Nature
The Mediasphere For Nature is the multimedia application laboratory of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. The Mediasphere is based on the museum’s digital media, which are created as part of the digitisation of the collections or through the museum’s research activities. These may include image and audio files, as well as digital 3D models.
The core mission of the Mediasphere is to build bridges between research, business, education and the creative industries. In its role as a driver of innovation, the Mediasphere serves as a point of contact at the Museum für Naturkunde for the development of knowledge-based projects and product innovations.
Having emerged from an externally funded project, Mediasphere For Nature is now an established part of the museum and, since 2017, has realised numerous projects, collaborations and events, as well as supporting partner developments. In doing so, Mediasphere can draw on the expertise of the museum’s various specialist departments.
