ScienceUs is a three-year Horizon Europe project which aims to create an EU-wide network of citizen science initiatives in the field of climate change adaptation and assist these initiatives in scaling their activities.

To this end, the ScienceUs consortium has selected high-potential citizen science initiatives and is supporting them through a three-stage program that combines funding of up to €40,000 per project with mentoring, training, and networking opportunities.

The project involves benchmarking citizen science practices across Europe, conducting an ongoing evaluation of the funded initiatives, and developing recommendations for policymakers and other stakeholders. At the same time, ScienceUs is collaborating with other EU projects to identify opportunities and obstacles and develop ideal scenarios for the application of citizen science in the field of climate change adaptation.

Cooperation partners

In addition to the MfN, the ScienceUs consortium comprises six member universities of the CIVIS Alliance. It is coordinated by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. The project is furthermore supported by ten experts from academia and policymaking who serve on its Stakeholder Advisory Board.
