Planetology and Cosmic Mineralogy with special emphasis on:

  • Meteorite research and planetology (asteroids, moon, Mars)
  • Terrestrial impact craters and natural and experimental shock metamorphism of minerals and rocks
  • Impact processes in the planetary system and collision history of the Earth-moon system and its role in the evolution of life

Research projects:

  • Unified concept for the classification of progressive shock metamorphism of planetary silicate rocks
  • Experimental impact cratering
