As a project officer, I coordinate the collection development and collection project as part of the future plan. I am responsible for scientific, strategic and administrative project planning and advise the project management both in internal project development and in the implementation of corresponding measures. I am also part of the international project “Diversity and ecosystem function of small mammals in the Lower Oder Valley National Park”. My research interest lies particularly in the population ecology of terrestrial small mammals, especially rodents and shrews.

Vita

I have been working in a scientific environment at the Museum of Natural History for around 25 years and have been working in the area of collection development and development in the future plan since 2020. In previous years I had scientific project, sub-project and coordination responsibility in various national and European research, digitalization and infrastructure projects (EU BON, GBIF-D, EDIT, ERDF). Focus areas: biodiversity and taxonomy research, data infrastructures, media offerings, international course coordination as well as teaching and research in Africa (including small mammal research in Namibia, BIOTA). Of particular importance to me are interdisciplinary collaboration, international networking and lively exchanges with students. My academic career began with a degree in natural sciences, which was followed by doctoral studies. The dissertation dealt with the habitat use and population dynamics of small mammals in the grasslands of the "Queen Elizabeth National Park", Uganda. During this time, I developed independent research approaches and gained experience in research, teaching and project work.
