Vita
After studying biology and completing my doctorate in zoology at the University of Göttingen, I worked as a postdoc at the University of Bielefeld and the University of Glasgow. I have been working at the Museum of Natural History as a scientist in charge of the collection since 2001. After my habilitation in 2009, I was a private lecturer at the Humboldt University in Berlin for 10 years. In 2020 I was awarded an adjunct professorship in “Evolutionary Morphology” by Humboldt University. From the beginning of my scientific career, my research interest was in marine invertebrates. I have conducted research at many marine biology stations and have taken part in 7 deep-sea expeditions so far.
