Open Access publication costs 2026–2028
Expanding a sustainable, transparent and future-proof open access infrastructure
I make the library fit for research: moving away from its analogue ‘sleeping beauty’ status towards a specialised research library of the future. Current challenges include the relocation and outsourcing of the library collection, as well as questions about the future use of the library and, derived from this, the requirements for collection, infrastructure and service portfolio. Another focus is on theopen access transformation of the museum. To this end, the Scientific Publishing Coordination Office, as part of the library team, is developing guidelines, processes and communication formats. Since 2026, the team includes colleagues from data management, which will further strengthen the processes of information provision, publication and data management. In this way we ensure that research results from the museum can make an impact to help shaping the future of the earth.
