As a research associate at the FAU Competence Center for Research Data & Information at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and a visiting scholar at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, I am supporting the establishment and conceptual development of the digital research platform for the DFG project “Research and Responsibility – Virtual Access to Integrated Fossil and Archival Material from the German Tendaguru Expedition (1909–1913).” The platform’s goal is to integrate, visualize, and make heterogeneous collection and archival data available in the long term. At the same time, it serves as a space for research and reflection on the responsible handling of the museum’s colonial legacy.
My research focuses on semantic knowledge modeling and ontology development, as well as the design of interoperable, FAIR- and CARE-oriented research environments for data-driven transdisciplinary research in the field of digital cultural heritage. A particular focus of my work is on the reconstruction of historical collections and provenances, as well as the visualization of colonial interconnections.
