Strengthening, researching and further developing citizen science for biodiversity conservation

As a scientist in the area of citizen science and biodiversity in the FB3 Nature and Society, I move in many ways at the interface between nature and society. I am working on how society can get involved in nature research as citizen scientists and how it can support professional biodiversity monitoring as well as what motivates and inhibits people from participating. I am also doing my doctorate in the research area 1 Dynamics of Nature in Mirjam Knörnschild's working group on bats in Germany and how they are influenced by protected areas and agricultural landscapes.
