As a scientist in the areas of citizen science and biodiversity in the Nature and Society science programme, I move in many ways at the interface between nature and society. I am working on how society can get involved in nature research as citizen scientists and how it can support professional biodiversity monitoring as well as what motivates and inhibits people from participating.

I am also doing my doctorate in the Dynamics of Nature science programme in Prof. Dr. Mirjam Knörnschild's research group on bats in Germany and how they are influenced by protected areas and agricultural landscapes.
