Dr. Thies Johannsen (he/him)

I lead the Knowledge for Action group and provide strategic direction for research and practice at the intersection of science, society, policy, and the private sector. My research focuses on science communication, participatory science, public engagement, knowledge and technology transfer, capacity building, and impact. I aim to bring relevant stakeholders together to generate robust knowledge and translate it into action, supporting forward-looking decision-making and sustainable development that contribute to the common good, biodiversity conservation, and responsible innovation at local, regional, and global levels.
