The ombudspersons at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin act as points of contact for questions, disputes or suspected cases relating to good scientific practice. Their work is based on the guidelines of the Leibniz Association, the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the museum’s internal regulations.
The Museum’s researchers elect the ombudspersons for a term of three years. In this role, they work independently and confidentially. They carefully investigate reports of possible research misconduct and, where necessary, support further steps within the Leibniz Association.
As confidential points of contact, they support all researchers at the museum with questions and concerns regarding good scientific practice.
