Main sponsor – Berliner Sparkasse

Together with Berliner Sparkasse, we make research accessible, create new ways for different audiences to engage with it, and bring the museum to the city – digitally, in person, and for all generations.

Berliner Sparkasse is the main sponsor of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. Since 1 July 2019, we have been working closely together towards a shared goal: to communicate scientific knowledge in an accessible way and to inspire more people to take an interest in it. Berliner Sparkasse had already supported the museum with a donation of one million euros in 2018.

Knowledge brings clarity

Together with Berliner Sparkasse, we make complex issues understandable and accessible. We develop initiatives that impart knowledge, provide guidance and encourage people to engage actively with issues affecting the future.

Common formats

Science to listen to

With the podcasts Beats & Bones and Süßes oder Saurier, we bring science straight into everyday life.

  • In Beats & Bones, researchers offer insights into the collections and laboratories. The podcast has won awards including the German Audiobook Prize.
  • Süßes oder Saurier is aimed at children who send in their questions as voice messages.

Experience science

The ‘Science in the Dinosaur Hall’ lecture series brings the latest research to the stage. Researchers explain their work in an accessible way and demonstrate what science means for our everyday lives. The events take place several times a year.

Activities for families

At the annual children’s festival organised by Berliner Sparkasse, children and families discover the museum in a new way. Thousands of visitors have already taken part – with free admission.

Festival of Lights

With the support of Berliner Sparkasse, the museum is taking part in the 2019 Festival of Lights. Light projections on the main façade highlighted research, the collection and collaboration within the urban landscape.
