Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

This statement applies to the content on our website and our social media channels. 

We aim to ensure transparency regarding our use of artificial intelligence. That is why, on this page, we explain the areas in which we use AI to support our work and where decisions are made exclusively by humans. 

We use Artificial Intelligence (AI) solely in a supporting capacity. We remain responsible for all published content at all times. 

Texts

Some of our German-language texts are linguistically revised with the help of AI. Every text is checked and approved by us before publication. 

Translations

We use DeepL to translate our content. All translations are then checked by us and amended where necessary. 

Images and graphics

We do not use AI-generated images. In individual cases, graphics may be edited using AI-assisted tools. 

Organisation and data management

AI supports us with organisational tasks, such as managing redirects. The design, technical implementation and quality assurance are carried out by our staff. 

Transparency

This statement describes our regular use of AI. Should we publish any content beyond this that has been created, in whole or in substantial part, with the aid of AI, we will label it in a transparent and traceable manner. 

Responsibility

When using AI, we adhere to the applicable European Union guidelines, in particular the EU Regulation on Artificial Intelligence (AI Act), as well as the recommendations for the responsible and transparent use of AI in science communication.
