Speculative Ecologies, (Post-)Natural Histories und New Weird Futures: Visions of the Fabulocene ist eine spielerische und poetische Lecture-Performance über Zeit, Evolution und queeres Worldbuilding, das Menschen und andere Lebewesen gemeinsam in den Blick nimmt.
Tiresias schrieb und performt Visions of the Fabulocene als Abschluss der Artist Residency am Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. Tiresias beschreibt sich selbst als shape-shifter, drag-thing and performance creature. Teil der Veranstaltung ist außerdem ein besonderer, von Biomimikry inspirierter Auftritt der international renommierten Drag-Künstlerin Hungry.
Die Artist Residency und die Lecture-Performance wurden durch die Unterstützung des Museums für Naturkunde Berlin, von Dr. Mirjam Knörnschild, dem Diverse Intelligences Summer Institute und der Princess Grace Foundation ermöglicht.
About Tiresias
They are a hybrid writer, director, composer, performer, puppeteer, mythmaker, shapeshifter, drag-thing, songbird, and ritualist. Called “a rara avis of experimental theatre” by The New Yorker and “one of the most enchanting performers in New York City” by The Brooklyn Rail, their work explores queer ecologies, weird mythologies, and speculative futures.
They have received fellowships and residencies from Ucross, MacDowell, Millay Arts, Bogliasco, Sitka Center for Art & Ecology, The Princess Grace Foundation, The Jim Henson Foundation, and elsewhere. They are a Luce, Marshall, and Fulbright Scholar.
