European Stakeholder Round Table on Citizen and DIY Science and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI)

The European Citizen Science Association (ECSA), which is hosted by the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and chaired by director general Prof. Johannes Vogel and Dr. Katrin Vohland, is pleased to invite to the first European Stakeholder Round Table on Citizen and DIY Science and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI).

The round table is part of the Horizon 2020 project DITOs – Doing-It-Together Science that will implement many innovative participatory event formats across Europe in the two critical areas of biodesign and environmental monitoring. In the project, ECSA will help to build the institutional and policy foundations for sustained deep public engagement in science and technology in Europe. The round table is the first of a series of stakeholder events and will lay the foundations for this work. Experts from the citizen science and DIY science communities will come together to explore synergies between their approaches to participation and co-create the policy-engagement agenda. The round table is framed by the aim to discuss what we can learn from and add to the European policy agenda of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) regarding cross-cutting issues, such as gender equality and inclusion, ethics, SMEs involvement, and evaluation.

Venue: Museum für Naturkunde Berlin
