Leibniz F.A.Z Education Competition: Award-winning projects

leibniz-bildungsprojekt

Which everyday objects do students associate with globalization? How do they imagine the museum of the future? In the educational competition of the Leibniz Research Museums in cooperation with the F.A.Z., the focus on globalization and the challenges that arise from it for museums and research is sharpened.

The research museums of the Leibniz Association enable active participation in scientific knowledge on the central issues of our time. Everyone should be able to deal with topics, contents and objects of museums, regardless of origin or financial possibilities. In line with this claim, the educational competition “A World in Motion” organized by the Leibniz Research Museums in cooperation with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung offered learners from all over Germany the opportunity to exchange ideas.

56 exceptionally exciting and creative contributions were submitted. Here you get an insight into the digital award ceremony and the award-winning projects.

In the second-placed project, the participants at the Max Planck Gymnasium Lahr deal with challenges that museums are currently facing. "Art Show: a breath of fresh air for dusty museums" is a creative short film and names formats with which young people could be interested in museums.

The students also refer to the digital offerings of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin: Google Arts & Culture, for example, can be used to view the Biodiversity Wall with more than 3,000 preserved animals virtually. They also emphasize the museum's presence on social media, which make knowledge "easily accessible and more attractive to younger people".
