Wespen-Comic

Do you already know the dementor wasp or the monster wasp? With a first comic in which these two species meet, we invited you to continue this story. You could determine how the story ends!

Whether drawing or poetry: you created your own creative story and asked questions of the objects, which we then answered scientifically.

We raffled 3x2 free tickets among all participants!

About the dementor wasp

The dementor wasp (Ampulex dementor) is a burrowing wasp native to Thailand. The wasp was given its name in the course of a visiting survey, which refers to the "Harry Potter" novels and goes back to the stinging behaviour of the dementor wasp.

About the monster wasp

The monster wasp (Megalara garuda) belongs to the group of digger wasps and lives on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. In 2011, it was discovered in the collections of the Natural History Museum and simultaneously on Sulawesi. Since the monster wasp has never been observed alive, little is known about its behaviour.
