How is nature sexualised? How do researchers determine the sex of a dinosaur? What does colonialism have to do with botany and sex in plants? Which knowledge – and whose – do we (re-)present at the Museum für Naturkunde, and what may remain hidden?
The Queering Nature tour foregrounds a queer-historical perspective on nature and science. Using examples such as the hippopotamus, polar bear or Tyrannosaurus rex in the museum’s exhibitions, it explores these and many other questions.
