The Museum für Naturkunde as the so-called Campus of Berlin Science Week
Press release,

On 1 and 2 November 2024, the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin will once again become the Berlin Science Week CAMPUS. The CAMPUS invites you to family-friendly exhibitions and over 30 events, including discussions, workshops and speakers' corners. CAMPUS highlights include a panel with guests from science, literature, music and politics entitled ‘Common Sense, Common Science... Come on!’, which will discuss shared visions for a better future and the role of science.

‘We want to celebrate science together, get people excited about nature and research, engage in dialogue and actively create the future together,’ says Johannes Vogel, Director General of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin.

This year's Berlin Science Week is focusing on the theme of ‘Common Ground’ - the idea of bridging polarisation and finding ways to tackle global challenges together. Particular emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary exchange - for example between art and science - and cooperation between different areas of society. The festival is taking place for the 9th time at the Museum für Naturkunde and at various venues throughout Berlin.

During the two CAMPUS days, the museum offers a range of exciting topics. Participants can discuss how AI addresses pressing social challenges. Discover how 70 years of international co-operation have pushed the boundaries of particle physics at CERN. The events cover a wide range of topics, from microbes to the importance of daylight for our collective well-being and critical questions of academic freedom.

The planning lab of exhibitions at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin offers a place for knowledge exchange on 1 November from 11:00 - 17:30, where visitors have the opportunity to talk to members of the exhibition team and get a glimpse behind the scenes of the museum.
