On International Day for Biological Diversity, the Museum für Naturkunde invites museum visitors of all ages to take part in activities in front of the museum. Children as well as adults can learn about and discover the diversity of Berlin's flora and fauna at various stands on insects, birds, mammals and urban trees.

Insects can be observed in the museum garden, the voices of birds can be guessed in a quiz and animal skins can be felt. The trees in front of the museum can also be playfully explored and cards and buttons can be artistically designed with leaves and bark.

We will also be presenting environmental education projects at the Museum für Naturkunde and providing information on how Berlin's biodiversity can be protected to ensure that Berlin remains one of Europe's most biodiverse capitals in the future.

The day of action takes place as part of the project Understanding Diversity together with the coordination offices for nature, environment, climate and sustainability education in the districts of Mitte and Reinickendorf. A partner in both projects is the Berlin-Mitte School Environment Center, which is participating in the day with activities.
