As part of the project, a series of workshops was created in which the topic of species extinction is to be presented at the interface with anthropocentrism, racism and patriarchal social order. The aim is to reorient nature education discourses in a diversity-critical and decolonizing way.

The TransformationsLab is much more than a conventional conference. It is a platform that sheds light on the pressing issue of species extinction from an intersectional and racism-critical perspective, presented by EMPOCAgUG, the Theater an der Parkaue and the Netzwerk Naturwissen. We not only focused on the isolation of species extinction, but also on its profound links with anthropocentrism, racism and patriarchal structures.
The event was dedicated to the complex connections between species extinction and the current social and political crises of our time. Through interactive workshops and content-related impulses, we want to look for possible courses of action together. What happens when people with different backgrounds and expertise come together to explore the challenges of species extinction and collaboratively develop socially just solutions?

What could our coexistence look like in a changing climate? Will the sun's rays still feel the same on our skin as they did last year? Will the sea taste the same in ten years' time as it does right now? How will we live with other people, animals and plants in a world that will be different tomorrow? Together with artist Can Rastovic, we experimented with movement, painting and our own texts and brought our own stories to life with virtual reality.
The "Transformationslab" sub-project was created through the collaboration of networkers Anthony Owosekun (EMPOCA), Trang Trần (formerly Theater an der Parkaue), Nils Erhard (Theater an der Parkaue) and Yari Or.
