The Berlin School of Public Engagement and Open Science is a collaboration between the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Robert Bosch Foundation as part of the Berlin Science Campus. The Berlin School promotes communication and dialogue formats between researchers and the public to critically and systematically address societal issues and challenges. It aims at opening science and research and conveying processes and results of scientific work in an innovative, interactive and stakeholder-oriented manner. To this end, the Berlin School works to create incentives, opportunities and competencies for target groups and researchers of all career levels at German research institutions to participate in public engagement. The Berlin School and its staff support this opening process and cultural change scientifically and educationally.

As of September 2020, the head of the Berlin School is Dr Alina Loth.
