In its new special exhibition Tristan – Berlin bares Teeth, the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin puts the first original skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus rex in Europe. And would you believe it – it is the first time a museum has been exhibiting at the CeBIT fair, featuring a megastar. The Museum für Naturkunde Berlin shares its stand with the company shoutrlabs. Augmented Reality Content using the innovative shoutr.Boxx System.
TRISTAN OTTO strolls along the CeBIT fair – at least in Hall 8, where visitors can download an app. The new shoutrlabs system works with WiFi access points called shoutr.Boxxs. These have a storage system from where multimedia content can be downloaded to visitors’ mobile devices. No external Internet connection is needed. The system also includes beacons that will locate visitors within the area and automatically deliver the right content to their location. The system has been tried and tested at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and from May onwards, the Augmented Reality content shown at the CeBit will also be available in the Museum.
